Go on Google - not google earth, then on the maps, just move the map around until you find Alton Towers, look for Stoke on trent, then the A50 and then Alton and you will find it.

Youll notice Energiser by Corkscrew, no Rita, Ug Bugs still in place, and Spinball Whizzer being built, Swan boats still on the lake - what year would this photo have been taken? 2005?

2003 was when the Swan Boats left, and 2004 was when Spinball opened.

Late 2003-ish I think. Spinball's construction site was still a flat bit of land in September of that year.

Heres the direct link:
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&sour...mp;t=h&z=16

Also notice, the park is open but Skyride isnt tongue.gif

I don't know if anybody else has noticed, but the new version of Earth has the timeline thing so you can see developments over the years....its a bit screwed up though, Rita appears when you expect then disapears on the most recent photo, ooops smile.gif

I think the photo was taken in the evening. Look at the car parks and a lot of cars have left (not parked 2 by 2), and the majority of people are by Towers Street. If you look carefully you will see a car on Oblivion brake run and a car going through the inline twist on Air.

I noticed that the Dynamo is still there in FV. From the shadows it looks like it was taken in early evening, posibbly towards the end of the summer.

Looking at the shadows, I think it's about 3pm.
