The park maps probably had to go to print before the decision was approved. I think it'll feature on the scarefest park maps toward the end of the year.

Like Josh said, Merlin do seem keen on going down the social media route, which is pretty good to reach out to fans who are already looking into developments. It was quite a nice way to follow the updates for Saw through those monthly YouTube videos. Whilst I agree it's a little early for that (I think the first 'Dylan' official update was uploaded in August last year), I would appreciate it if Alton followed in their footsteps; particularly if it has links to developing the story piece by piece.

The first Dylan video was released in July, continuing on until November.

However, I would like to see SW6 have more videos to see a bigget storyline built up, like what AT is known for. As far as I know, AT doesn't actually have a YouTube account (does it?) which could mean we don't actually get any videos from there unless they set one up for AT or SW6 espically. Otherwise, we may see these other accounts releasing such videos...

A tale and a twist

was used in the Hex Ad I think?

Hex has used the line "a tale with a twist" as part of it's marketing, it's also used in the queueline videos I think.

Regardless of the source of that video, that's actually quite creepy.

Another creepy thing is if you look at pic 5 of the more recent pics added to the construction gallery, the reflection in the Skyride window, just slightly to the right of the centre of the pic looks like the faceless hooded figure on the plans for the ride station.

Just one of those things that you spot when you're almost trying to look for something, I guess.

eeeek! i really hope this idea doesn't see the light of day. But if it does, id prefer it if the film was just an extended version of the pre-show film explaining the curse and the story etc, rather than have it all set in the present...

Why on earth would you want Robbie Williams in your movie? What an awful way to cheapen it.

Still, as I said before, that latest video was suitably spooky, so congrats to whoever made it. And if it's a taster for a longer film, then it shows promise.

MMMMMM it's all very interesting, there is deffo a hooded figure on that picture not sure if it's coincidence or what but its certainly there! the videos I think are pretty much genuine, especially the last one. It stinks of Blair witch and I really do reckon there is some link with the film that is mentioned in the link I posted earlier. As for Maude de Neville the following link is interesting.....

Also its interesting that the night watchman and Frank Butler is mentioned in this write up about a ghost hunt at Alton towers. Frank Butler is interesting because one of the YouTube channels with videos on is called reltuBknarF0102, backwards is 2010FrankButler.

Also there is a book called The Watchers which is based at Alton Towers, the author, Helen Cresswell also wrote a book called the nightwatch man and other books like Moondial that were made into TV series. Here is an extract from that book.

When two kids called Josh and Katy decide they want to leave their mean foster home, they mean it. After a trip to Alton Towers Josh and Katy make plans to escape there, deicding it is the perfect escape route. Once in Alton Towers, they mainly sit around in the gardens, until a sequence of strange events began to happen. Turn your back for a min whilst watching in the background and all of a sudden, Richard Hart returns....

Gotta say, them videos do seem "amateur/professional" to me. Don't know why but i get a distinct feeling that this could be a new viral project Dylan to me. Remember the first one released to promote Dylan, everyone said it was very amateur to be a promotional video and yet look how it turned out. Im 50/50 on all this at the moment however, it does seem like its a possibility that this could be very genuine.

As for the names which have cropped up, i can get first hand clarifaction on this due to a friend is part of the paranormal groups who do investergations at towers. She'll be able to confirm or denigh names which have been cropping up of recent.

Well, we'll hopefully find out soon if this is a ruse or not.

Against it being genuine: We pretty much know from the plans/dark wood concepts that it's going to be a reasonably spooky theme and so it's easy for anybody to put vids on the net that are pretending to be part of a possible viral campaign. This one reason alone is worth doubting these vids.

For: The reltuBknarF0102 vids seem pointless. Three short random vids of somebody moving through woods/grass/rocks just seems too abstract. A fanboy would have added more obvious clues or hints.
The vid with the hand is a bit rubbish, to be honest, but the one with the figure just seems like a 'professionally' staged amateur video. Whoever's made that has an excellent perception of what's spooky. As if they've been watching 1992's Ghostwatch or those 1970s BBC Christmas Ghost Stories.

As for Maude, well as somebody's already said, great bit of research there on the name, and the post itself isn't the most obvious thing to write. It seems far more clinical than what I would have thought a fanboy would have written. It's all spelt perfectly and moves away from the obvious 'All will be rivealed 2moz' type post that I would expect from someone pretending to be 'in the know'.

If it's fake, then I take my hat off to whoever's behind it. Good scam and it's really made me want it to be real simply because I love the vid with the figure in it and would love to see more in the same style.

And anyway, it's all more interesting than 'B&M don't make that style of track' type discussions

The Earl was confused and puzzled to why
His favorite hound was nowhere to his eye.

Upon the hunting parties return
The Earl's young child raised concern
For nowhere was he to be seen
Then suddenly an unearthly scream.

Her clothes covered in crimson smears
Her eyes alight, filled with fear
The maid cried the hound had killed the boy
With blood on it's fangs and eyes full of joy.

The frantic Earl, blinded by grief
Withdrew his blade from it's sheath
An almighty plunge of this hunting knife
Took the hound bereft of life.

The dog's dying cry awoke his son
Peacefully concealed in another room
But nearby, a slain wolf was found
The true attacker lay on the ground.

The Earl realised his dreadful error
His heart began to fill with terror
