Hi there, after a recent trip to Alton Towers (16th April), I pulled up the old RCT recreation done by John Wardly and decided to give it a make-over and add the newer rides. So far i've completed Air, revamped Nemesis, built Rita and nearly finished Spinball Whizzer. Air was probably the hardest beacuse there was limited amount of space in the park but I think I did pretty well.

So, on to the pics.....

A reworked Nemesis with new paint job...

Construction begins for Air...

Air is built and landscaping begins...

Forbidden Valley is complete with repostioned monorail...

Runaway mine train is retracked slightly (you should have seen the original), and has a new facade...

Rita is built...

UG land is complete.... for now...

Thats it for now! Comments and critique welcome ph34r.gif

James

It looks awesome mate! Your Rita recreation is excellent and you've done a great job with Air also. Nice retracking of RMT too. The original was awful!

You need to demolish Corkscrew though, but it looks good so far. Will it be available for download? smile.gif

Thanks very much! Yeah I think I will delete it now, poor Corkscrew.

Thanks man. I try my best. Anyway, I built Spinball Whizzer, I don't like it. I can't figure out what it is but theres something wrong with it. Perhaps someone can say? Think it lacks the magic!

Elsewhere in the park Corkscrew has also been removed ready to make way for SW6.

A few pics...

Thanks for the 20 odd years Corkscrew...

All for now!

James

Still looking good biggrin.gif, you could use the spinning wild mouse track to make the cars spin?

Hmmm, would rather have banked track I think.

Re-did the layout, much happier now smile.gif

Just need to finish the station off and rework some other part of the park now. Oblivion needs some love and Charlie and the Chocolate factory needs building!

All for now.

Not sure really, Air probably took about 3 hours, same for Spinball. Keep retracking them, trying to get a balance between realism and asthetics. I've retracked Spiball AGAIN. I'm done with it now.

Nearly done with the park!

Never realised John Wardley made that park!

Who is a bigger king in the roller coaster community, John Wardley or Chris Sawyer?

I'm not sure that John made the park. I think it was Chris.

Anyway, very nice looking... but, this is RCT2 and that means buildings are possible. Its nice but I really think for it to be Alton Towers it needs to look abit more authentic. Photo booths, themeing, etc.

Ahhh Sawyer, good to see you're still about, I used to chat to years ago on MSN, used to post on here as go_me I think. How are you doing? Because its imported from RCT1 I only have RCT1 scenery to play with for some reason, so I would love to add more but I can't.

It was made by John though, if you load up the original and look in the top left hand corner you'll see his autograph in bush form.

And yep, John is the king!

Bonus point to anyone who finds the 'easter egg'!

I really do love the way you made this park look. I'm going to download in a sec, I have not got RCT2 on here atm, so i'm going to do that now.

Yeah man i'm very well, and yourself?

hamiltonno1fan@live.co.uk (messenger) if you wanna chat again, or anyone else for that matter.

Will post again when i've had a look at the park.
