I've bought one, and i adore it, its so nice to use. It does all the media stuff the iphone does, all the books apps, HD games, word, excel etc. All the apps really show the power of it.

I've played a few games on it, and at the moment there aren't really many games made to use the iPad's extra resolution (most are iPhone games and the iPad quadruples the pixels), but when developers really do start taking advantage of the extra screen size it has the potential to be a formidable gaming tool. Also useful for stuff like checking emails, and very cool for stuff like Google Earth, not sure I could see myself watching many films on one though. It does pretty much everything really.

Except Flash.

For me i dont think it will, it will get better with the new OS when that is released. Also for me personally, i used to keep logging on and off laptop, which takes a few mins, know i can just log on whenever. The games are good, i only download Ipad specific ones.

My Vista laptop switches on and off within 5 seconds, just press the power button and it sleeps, press it again and its on. Plus it has a HDD, DVD writer, usb ports, memory stick ports, keyboard, expandability and still cost less than an iPad!

(you may have guessed by now I cannot seriously see the point of an iPad!)

Haha, I was going to say most decent PC/laptops only take a few seconds to boot up, plus give you the luxury of multtasking from the off!

I can see the novelty with one guy who I work with claiming it's "amazing to play with." ...but I just can't see the fun once you've run out of flashy things to do.

..and the fact that you can buy a stand and a keyboard for it makes me lol. Buy a laptop!

It looks cool and I would like to have one. I just can't justify spending that much money on something which effectively does less than a cheaper laptop can do.

Like you Gary said I don't see the point. Fair enough it was about half the price it actually is, then it would be a viable alternative.

I am willing to turn a blind eye to poor safety regimes as long as they get the theming right. In Six Flags, we get neither.
