Myself and Dan have got a good few photos of the site, they will be online very soon. A sneaky peak went on our Twitter feed earlier today - http://twitpic.com/fys13

The footers for the lift-hill have been layed and more groundwork is being carried out, a large square hole (about 4-5m deep) is being dug in the center of the old corkscrew site. A 3-4m deep, 20m long curved trench is also being excavated at the rear of the corkscrew site.

Cant get on Twitter in work so will have a look later but is this big hole the same one they were digging a few weeks back which caused us all to speculate what would be inside it. The deep curved trench i'm guessing would be for a very low to the ground swooping banked curve which with some good themeing could be very impressive.

6 new pictures of SW6 added to the construction gallery, click here to find them.

What isn't really shown on the pics is a very obvious gap has appeared in the trees where the track will enter the forest behind the construction site.

Cheers guys, getting exciting now. Mrs was on park today and bought me back leaflets etc, sent her bargain hunting for cheap Rita stuff but she said the shelves were pretty bare, seems they're getting shot of the stuff quickly.

Excellent pictures team.... however, in picture 4 there does seem to be some faint writting in red spray paint, im sure it says "6 Fog" wacko.gif (middle bottom near the footer). Fog Machines as part of theming anyone?

There only seemed to be a few Rita trophies and medals left, rest was generic Alton t-shirts and toys.

Some of the footers had a red spray-painted code near them not just this one. Looking at my hi-rez version it reads "61579". Maybe just to indicate what support pole goes where?

It appears on my visit this weekend I missed out on photos of a key bit of construction. Parts of the themeing have started to be put up in the trees behind the old corkscrew site, photos can be found courtesy of the Dan Bayliss off of TTF forum here.

As a site note, unfourtunatley the ATA team can't be at the park every day to take new pictures of the construction. If any of our users have taken photos of the construction process and would like to offer them to use on our site then have a read of our Photo Submission policy then let either Myself or Dan know via forum PM, Email or simply a post in this forum. Our contact details can be found here.

Thanks!

That hole looks incredibly deep, be interesting to see if anything is lowered into there, hydrolics etc. That holemust be something to do with the world first element of the ride. Could be some sort of tilt or drop function

Love that the window on the fascia pic looks pretty much like Pugin's windows in the Towers. Lovely touch!

How odd! They're putting up bits of theming before any of the track?!

Any idea on when we'll see some Intamin steel going in?

The word on the grapevine is that the track is being delivered sometime this week.

To me, this can only mean there is going to be VERY detailed, submerversive theming or that they are just try to hide what is going to be inside the building (ie - world's first dropping track element). I personally feel the latter is much more likely at the moment...

I don't think that section of SW6 scenery has been placed in position. It looks like it's being made by Studios and obviously it's too big to fit within the workshops.
