Lotte World Gets First Water Rocket Coaster + Tussaud's Rumours.

Construction has started on the first Intamin Water Rocket Coaster. The ride will be called 'Atlantis Adventure' and is located in Lotte World, South Korea. It is highly rumoured that Tussaud's Heide Park will be receiving one of these for 2004/2005. Thorpe Park and Alton Towers are also apparently looking at Wooden and Rocket coasters from Intamin respectively, so it seems Intamin products are the way to go...

I'm not sure, but I think it is where you start with the coaster part of the ride, then you go through water drops (like the on on Tidal Wave - but you are on a track, not a conveyer belt) huh.gif blink.gif

It looks to me as though water is squirted at you while on the track.

No, Its basically going to be a rocket coaster but will also have water splashes.

Something like this after the launch.

but obviously with a little winding track in between.

Looks like its now complete.

NEW PRODUCT - Aqua Trax (8 Passengers)

Aqua Trax ist the first water ride with linear motor launch system.

The basic AquaTrax is designed to allow guests sitting astride a saddle-like seat as seen on jet skis rather than 'inside' a boat. This way the passengers will feel much more part of the ride and not just as a passive co-driver. Riders will be held safely in place using a new restraint system over their laps, allowing more freedom of movement of the upper body. The saddles are slightly staggered in height to allow rear passengers to look over the shoulder of the rider in front.

The first Aqua Trax is under construction in Lotte World, Seoul, Korea (Photo, view from the top of the RIDE TRADE Gyro Drop).

The seats sound intresting, i will be looking forward to seeing this.

I've read the Coaster Force article- it sounds awesome. Looks incredibly themed and sounds like a good, long varied ride. However, I'll be very interested to see how/why/if the coaster boat will travel through water at such a high speed... My guess with the seating is that it'll be similar to the ones on Intamin Mega and Rocket coasters- a simple T-Bar. It's really good- gives a very freedom-like feeling.

ohmy.gif Wow. That really does look amazing! The theming is on a par with IOA and Disney there. I bet the ride will be great too- I love how it is going to have the launch, twists and turns, followed by a normal 'Splash-down' segment. I think it'll be a great ride; enhanced by the awesome scenery!
