Right...

Whether youíre mocking or not, just for the record...

QUOTE
* Both incorporate the colour brown heavily. Now I can accept that blue is a commonly used colour on websites but brown is a horrible colour that would never be used other than to try to con visitors into thinking they were on the ATA page.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. What colour is chocolate? Oh, and Iím really sure Iíd want guests to think they were on ATA blink.gif

QUOTE
* Both have the same logo on the front page despite TN's woeful attempts to mask the fact with a "clever" fading effect.

Erm, yes, we do, theyíre both from ThemeParkPictures. We both asked for permission, we both cropped them independently (i.e. I didnít nab ATAs edit) - obviously I shouldnít have bothered. Iíd like to know how itís a rip off blink.gif

QUOTE
* Both have the initials "www" in their web addresses. I suppose TN will claim theirs stands for WonderfulWebsiteWizardry but who are they really fooling?!!!!

Ah you got me, what was I thinking having www. In an web address. Actually, the main address I use is http://catcf.towersnerd.com blink.gif

QUOTE
* Both have construction updates. I'm sure ATA started this first and TN should really find their own niche and focus on some other aspect such as the new ride's impact on wildlife habitats.

Please take a look at TT, I think theyíre covering construction too! Nothing we havenít done before either... Rita?

I wonít bother commenting on the rest. Could you please leave your severely twisted sense of humour out of this topic, I was after constructive criticism and ideas, not blatant abuse. Anyone out there who can give a balanced POV?

Regards,
Mark

Mark,

He's being sarcastic. The points are indefensible, because they are bogus arguments, designed to highlight the silliness of expecting various sites on the same subject to have drastically different themes/layouts/content.

Ignore, move on, be happy.

My post was in support of your site which I think is shiny, you burke. I even said earlier in the thread that I liked it, but I concede that the subversiveness of my feelings must have got twisted in translation. tongue.gif

And for the record, chocolate is a multi-cultural candy. This fella refused to move seats on a bus so we wouldn't be stuck in a brown chocolate society for ever, so let's not forget it:

Hey, I demand a Rosa Parks figurine to go on my desk, on a bus seat mount.

We demand equality!

Incidentally, the new Towers Nerd seems fine to me. smile.gif

Ok, I looked at this topic before Tom made his first post and my first thought was "Wow, it looks just like ATA". Is that balanced enough?

To be fair Mark, Im really looking forward to the site and really enjoyed watching the teaser vid - looks like some good features will appear on the site. Ashame other people in this topic cant see that.

The logos great and I think its harsh to begin critising an alton towers guide for looking like another alton towers guide, there will be similarities, are ata not refusing to say that this site might have been inspired by others? Good luck.

Site looks good, maybe some screenshots would be better than a video?

And some of you should be ashamed of yourselves. Talk about double standards!! tongue.gif

Love the new site lads. The first AT fansite to be added to my bookmarks since ATA. The only thing I would class as a negative is that it can look bare in some places: Example.

Apart from that, keep up the great work. smile.gif

The site looks great, but I dunno if it's just me but it seems painfully slow... sad.gif

An example, the park info page just took around 20 seconds to render fully. I'm on a 1Mb connection.

None of your galleries work for me. Also why is it taking me a hour to download the CATCF video.

I apologise for this. Of all the days the server decides to throw a paddy it seems to be doing it this evening. It could be related to the load but it was fine earlier when we were getting a lot of traffic. Iím doing the best I can at my end to try and speed things up. Thanks for your comments so far smile.gif
