I've submitted the Gemcast URL to ZenCast, but it takes a while for them to approve apparently, so the final show may be out by the time it goes through.

After eight exciting episodes, Gemcast - Season 1 has reached it's thrilling conclusion, and the finale is available to download now @ Gemstuff. happy.gif
There's singing, some mild conflict and more amazing answers to thrilling questions. smile.gif

Coming in the next few days, you can look forward to the Gemcast Epilogue, brought to you by yours truly. Hope you enjoyed them... but please just lie if you didn't. huh.gif

Hmm, could almost be classed as false advertising. I'd better add a few qualifying comments...

Singing: only in the very loosest sense of the word. It's a performance that can at best be described as "lacklustre", owing to the reluctance of the singer, and despite the encouragement and accompaniment from a toddler. But hey, I can't criticise, I didn't even join in.

Conflict: I wouldn't say it was conflict really. There was no arguing as far as I can remember. Was there? Or was I meaner than I intended to be?

And the use of adjectives "thrilling", "amazing" and "exciting" is entirely John's opinion, and should not be taken as a guarantee...

Gemcast Epilogue? What's that when it's at home?

And I hope people enjoyed them too. I did (eventually).

Woo, yay, shameless self-promotion and a double post! smile.gif

It's been three months since I last added a new photo album, because it's been cold and miserable and I haven't really done anything photo-worthy. Well, not the kind of photos I'd put on a website my mum knows about.

Until last weekend.

Drunken fancy dress in Nottingham, and everyone you can see in all the photos works for Revenue & Customs (except the barman in the last photo, for the pedants out there...).

Ker-click!

Ooh, look. Triple-post extravaganza! ohmy.gif

Hello.. llo... o...

ECHO!

(echo)

(echo...)

C'mon, someone post in here and tell me that my site is pants. Or tell me it's the only reason you get out of bed every day. Go on, compliments or criticism, I don't mind. smile.gif

You see, I'm posting again because of my li'l bruvver Dan (I think he hangs around this forum from time to time, some of you might know who he is...)

He's spent many many hours on my website. Recently he's made it slightly snazzier. I don't quite understand all the stuff he's done, but it looks slightly nicer, and he's put a little orange RSS button on it. Handy, considering the sporadic nature of updates.

And stuff like the babblings have been archived by month, and the photos open in the centre of the screen and close when you click anywhere on them, which is nice for lazy people like me who don't want to have to aim at the "X" every time.

So tweaks, mainly.

But... apparently it all works fine except that occasionally it goes completely wrong. Dan assures me that it's not a major problem. Just a minor glitch. So, it would be nice if all you people with different operating systems and stuff could click on a couple of things and tell me if, for example, my Grandma has three heads.

(Apparently that was the problem John came across when Dan showed him what he was working on...)

If you're still not convinced, there's a photo of me in a wet T-shirt on there too! *

* May be misleading but true.

We realised soon after that it was because the server I was using to test the new site was playing up.

Still, if anyone can find anything that doesn't work, I'd appreciate if you posted in here or sent me a PM/email. smile.gif

Don't worry about that, it's already sorted! smile.gif Someone emailed me, you'll never believe who - only the President of Uganda! Said something about needing to offload his millions, and that he'd personally chosen me to receive them. Unbelieveable eh? So, I signed up right away. Not under my name though, as he said he needed credit card details to be able to send the money, so I gave him yours. The money'll be arriving any day now! biggrin.gif

He also offered me some "cialis", not quite sure why. So I ordered a couple of packets of those on your card too, I'm guessing they're some kind plant fertiliser or something like that.

Bump, to thank all my kind clickers, who caused this email to land in my inbox today:

Number of hits since 2004-12-30: 10000

Thank you. And you, and you, and you, and you... etc.

I have no idea who you are, or why you choose to check the updates that appear with ever worsening frequency. But all ten thousand of you make me smile, and feel like I must be doing something right.

This is a very nice birthday present. smile.gif Thank you.

Exactly! biggrin.gif

That's why I thanked my clickers. Because they keep clicking.

If I'd had 10,000 unique visitors it would either mean that somewhere on a very busy site there was a link to gemstuff, which people clicked once out of curiosity, or that I'd embarked on a rather extensive spate of advertising.

And who wants ten thousand people to look at a site and never bother coming back to it? That would be pointless.

But if there are about 20 people who think it's worth clicking every day, that means a lot to me. Especially since they don't really gain anything from it, no exclusive news, no gossip. Just cynicism, rants and tangential waffling.

That's why I said thanks. Because it boggles my head. smile.gif

(Just re-read my last post, and spotted the bit that might have caused the confusion. When I said "all ten thousand of you" I was sort of talking to the clicks, if you see what I mean.)

When was this site last updated? It looks rather neglected to me. Which is a shame- the website actually looks very good! rolleyes.gif

I've found it now. Last updated May 2007- shame sad.gif

Yep, tell Dan to get Gemstuff 2.0 sorted out!

It was becoming a bit of a monster to update. And Facebook is so easy for uploading photos to...

Those who have a pressing urge to read the uninhibited drivel that I love spewing out into the world should go to http://witterings.wordpress.com/. It's a fairly new blog I've started.
