The Bone Shaker was a great family flat ride, and it's theaming was brilliant under both it's names/locations.

I think it should be brought back to replace Submission, which of course is the rid that replaced bone shaker/energizer originally.

But, I was just wandering, what happened to this brilliant ride? Why was it removed, and do Alton still own the ride?

Although I don't have sufficient grounds on this I thought it was removed due to
old age/poor reliability/no queue

Why oh why did it have to be replaced by Submission :crying:

Well, it got removed because a large "expensive" part broke and they did not replace it so its last season was until end of 2003 season. 2004, it was just an empty site. And no, towers havent got it anymore.

Tell you one thing though, head down to the first and third big bend of rita, look to your right of the ug swinger and it was there. Evidence still remains of it being there

It was the gearbox that broke, apparently. I think. To be honest I'm not even sure it had a gearbox, and my mind might have made that up. But it rings a bell.

It was sold back to Mondial eventually - see this news item.

You can also see an ode to Mondial here. wink.gif

I remember when I went to alton towers back in 2004 where the corkscrew roamed around b4 rita was here. I went round the back of the closed gates in ugland, and you never guess what i saw standing behind the wooden gates

I saw it all lined up boneshaker.

thats where i found it.

Just looking at the old photos of the ride, notice that its FULL of riders. Compare this to submission today. Bone shaker was a fab ride, quite unique and a new one should be installed instead of the waste of space submission....

Yes, I know it was in storage, at the back of the park for about 18 months after closing, but I REALLY want to know where it is today. tongue.gif

I think it was sold back to mondial?

We've already discovered that in this thread! tongue.gif

terra Mitea have had their supernova for a fair few years, so it can't be energizer?

if anyone has any solid evidence of where it lies today, I will e-kiss you, literally.

When do eventually find the Boneshaker, I personally think that it should be installed at Alton Towers in the UG Land. To bring the attraction's list upto 4:

Boneshaker, UG Swinger, Rita/ATIR (AltonTowersIntaminRocket) Queen of Speed and Corkscrew. When I saw the Ad for Ug Land, Corkscrew was marketed as a whole new attraction.
