What do people think? When will it go? What could replace it? Could they simply use the restored rooms as part of a Towers restoration, or would it have to be replaced by a new ride.

Interestingly, I was reading that Towers would see it being there until 2014.

This topic makes me sad. crying.gif

But I'm sure its got a longer life span then 14 years!

Villa Volta (another haunted swing ride) at Efteling is now in its 14th year of operation and I don't think there has been any talk of it's removal!

Also, Hex seems to fit very neatly with the Dark Forest theme which is being introduced in 2010 so I think it would be rather silly to remove the ride now that Alton Towers has embraced this Hex style themeing on much a larger scale.

"Hex", I just thought I'd drop it out there.

I love Hex and don't see it going in the near future - particularly with the Dark Forest theme, which could possibly see a revitalised [HEX] attraction in the next few years??

I don't think they will do anything with it. It still has queue's on busy days. I think the whole ride is themed incredibly well. And is one of the best themed rides at AT.

I also love the musty smell you get when exiting. blush.gif

i love the ride. its one of the most immersive at the park. although its suffered a bad rep from non park enthusiasts. i think the actual "ride" part is seen as a bit of a let down. a bit anticlimactic to some folk who que up for ages hoping to expect something more scary or whatever...

the ride could just do with some improvements in terms of effects etc.

The ride is really well directed/managed.

Sorry to vear oftopic but I read that it had low fog once?
Also, I noticed something that creates a spark in the octagon( not hexagon lol) which I thought was awesome... Didnt realise they could do it.
I dont think its this but probably similar?? http://www.creative-effects.com/Special_Ef..._generator.html

There is a fog machine in the Octogon that creates a layer of mist at floor level just before the guests enter the room.

Hex is one of the best rides in the UK in my opinion, but then I do have a bit of an obsesion over haunted swings. I very much doubt there will be any plans to remove this ride for a long long time to come.
